I have been using ‘winzip’ ever since I have started going to university, if you want to save some data on your home PC but it is too big, then compressing you’re files is a good way to saving them on your ‘C’ drive without using too much hard drive.

Basically, ‘winzip’ is a compression tool, it compresses tools into manageable sizes which can be easily stored.
You may find if you download a file from the internet they will be Zip file format and therefore it is in a decompression format. Seems technical but ever so easy.

If you have a computer that say you have had for a long time, you probably have files on the hard drive that you don’t require but don’t want to delete, well simple zip them together in a folder under a heading and they will still be stored but without taking up to much hard drive space.

I have so many ‘A’ level projects, on ‘winzip’ they don’t take that much room and they still are available to me if and when I require them.

You can compress five or six files into one. It’s a good way of managing your own files without losing them especially if you have low drive space.

‘Winzip’ is free and for a freebie its an excellent software and one that we should all have. It’s easy to download from the internet. When you require you’re files you can easily ‘extract’ them and continue to use them.

A brilliant software which is free and if you have loads of files on you’re hard drive, ‘winzip’ them. You will find that you’re computer will be faster as well.
