Advantages: I am not paying for electricity
Disadvantages: No doubt they will come chasing me for the money, Very poor customer service
I have just read the comments and can only re enforce the comments of the other dooyoo people. We keep hearing that it is so easy to switch our supplier be it Gas or Electricity, But I wonder how many people have actually switched without problems. None that I am aware of. My problems started March 2002 when i moved to my new house. I had previously toyed with the idea of switching supplier, and as I was moving to a new home what better time to switch suppliers. I completed all the necessary form for BG to supply my gas and electricity. The gas one was no problem and the direct debit was set up and came off my account no problems. I noticed a few months later that the ecectricity direct debit I set up was not being deducted. I called BG to be told there was a problem, but they would get this resolved. A few weeks later a phone call from BG sales centre would I be interested in getting my electricity from BG. After a few choice words to the sales person, I declined their kind offer. I wrote again to BG about August asking what was happening, they advised the matter was in hand they were awaiting info from Scottish Power. A few weeks later another call from BG sales, would I like to have my electricity from BG. I lost the plot at that point and told them to get their act together, or words to that effect. I wrote again and phoned again to be told the problem was being passed to the escalation team and the situation would be resolved with a month a t most. I received a letter in October saying they were on the case, and I would receive an update in a month if the situation was not resolved. Six weeks later, no response, I phoned again to be told there database had gone down and that is why I had not heard from them??????. I got another letter thanking me for my patience and they would try to sort this out by the end of December. I am not hopeful. In the meantime i have not paid for my electricity since March and if the situation is not resolved by the e
nd of December I intend to switch both my gas and electricity to another company who will supply me without any hassle. Or do I just keep quiet and hope they never come looking for their money for my electricity bill????

- 31/12/06 If I were you, I'd put aside the money but not make any efforts to pay unless asked. At least this way, if they come looking for you in the future you'll get to keep the interest! Good luck with it! x |

- 23/12/03 Would you like some advise, firstly i would advise you to contact mpas. This is the meter point administration service. It would be for your local electricity area, example you live in leeds it would be yorkshire. Ring them give them your full address and ask them for your 13 digit supply number. Make a note of this because there details are correct, then you can also ask them to confirm who is supplying you and from what date they started supplying. I would consider putting some money away towards your electricity bill, as when you do receive a bill from bg, all they will do is apologise profusely and offer you a three month payment plan. You could bring up the fact that they haven't billed you for a year and a bit. But this will not matter to them. I would also on the safe side take a meter read everymonth and stick it in a diary. I worked for the company it has no consideration for the its customers. I would get energy watch involved it will speed things up a little. As for me i got sacked i voiced my opinions and they obviously weren't happy. I personally wouldn't recommend them to any one. I was well and truly shocked at there lack of customer services. |
