I've been with British Gas for around 2 years ago now when we bought our house. They were responsible for the electricity, while another comapny looked after the gas. I then got British Gas to deal with both utilities as it was cheaper that way.

After few months i decided to use moneysupermarket.com to find the best plac eto get cheaper bills. It actually showed up British Gas, but their Click 4 Package. I immediately switched and was quite lucky as few months later utilities bills started to shoot up, but Click 4 was frozen from this and the hike in prices didn't affect us.

I found the Click 4 deal very good and my bills stayed fairly low, and the paperless billing is good. I see my bills online and can submit meter readings there as well.

Generally i've found being with British Gas quite good, but i guess i was lucky to join the Click 4 package when i did. I haven't had any real issues with them so would recommend them from my experience. Best thing is to use a comparison website to find the best deal and switch to them. I even got £30 cashback for 'switching' from one British Gas package to another!
