We keep having these letters come to us saying switch to gas and telling us all the joys of gas.

We know all the joys of gas and I can only just manage a small smile now and certainly didnt at the time.

It seems that sometime or other the previous owners did have gas but had it "taken out". This was done professionally and we do know the bills were up to date and they owed the gas board nothing.

We had been in here a couple of years when we suddenly had a gas bill. It was less than a fiver and yes we even made a joke about it as we had no gas.

We rang and they did actually apologise.

Over the next 6 months though the bill went up and up. We were threatened with being taken to court. We kept telling them to come and see and turn off the gas.


We ended it by literally grabbing a gas man who was reading meters and told him to read ours! The bills did stop but no apology. I am not making any comment at the bottom as I might go too far!!
