This is a long story about how we were nearly cheated by British Gas into buying a new gas heater that we didn't need.
Anyone reading this will want to get the full story, simply get my email address by clicking on my profile.
We invited British Gas to inspect our broken 6 yr old gas heater back in February 2002. The engineer told us that the mainboard was dead. Trusting BG we signed up for a new heater.
The day the engineer came to take away the 'faulty' heater I had reservations and changed my mind.
I asked another engineer to give me his opinion. He looked at the mainboard and said it had no fuse. With a new fuse he switched on the power and we have been using our 'dead' gas heater ever since.
I have apprehended what looks like a 'scam'. Energywatch have been unable to get a satisfactory reply from them since May. They've offered £100 without an apology.
