I have had to use the service 3 times, and I must say on each occasion the service has been fantastic. Usually a plumber/technician is sent the same day, the service has always been effective and flexible and I must say it is very good value for money (something like £6 a month for plumbing and drains). Today I had to call out a plumber for a blocked kitchen sink overflow. Someone arrived an hour later, solved the problem and also did a few other plumbing jobs around the house. I really cannot complain.

What a joke! Dyno-rod
I had a leak from my bath and under my British Gas cover Dyno-rod came out to repair the leak. They failed to diagnose the fault correctly and cracked my bath pannel. Three weeks after the event they agreed to replace the panel. They sent out a workman without the correct tools and then sent another workman the next day. This workman decided to cut the bathpannel with a wood saw and not measure the space. Then the dynorod employee reported to his manager that the work was satisfactory. His supervisor then failed to inspect the work, twice when appointment were made. His excuse was other emergency calls took priority and the manager failed to call and inform me he was not coming. My case is still unsolved.

I am in the process of changing to Scottish Power this is because your customer services are rubbish.

You never take meter readings so my account became in debit. You then demanded higher payments, when I asked if these could be reduced slightly I received a negative reply from your Customer services, with a "can't care less attitude". I have received a letter from you regarding closing my account my name in the address, but dear someone else. Even when I try your web to look at my account it will not let me in despite validating my e-mail address several times. The e-mails I receive are addressed to the person who owned the house before me!

Anyone reading this, please don't open an account with British Gas, their customer care is diabolical!

This cover is the worst on the market. On the rare occasions that I have had to engage with BG their customer service has been appalling. It took them 5 weeks to replace a hot water cylinder and that was only following numerous emails to Centrica's Sam Laidlaw.
Only recently our heating failed. It took BG 24hrs to call and the outside temperatures were -5.....
My advice is to talk to alternative providers. Ask them how long it takes to service your boiler. I guarantee that they all will take more time than BG - Current record 7 minutes!!
