Advantages: They have to be changed eventually and for health reasons

Disadvantages: The road is totally up and you ca't get down by car,even walking with a pram is a nightmare.It should be more organised.

As I write this North West water are drilling and hammering outside my house.They are changing the old lead water pipes for the newer plastic ones and I believe they are doing the whole area.
I personaly had mine done 6mths ago and they charged me £350 now they are doing it at a special rate of £250 but thats beside the point.
We have had no water for the past 2 Fridays from 8am till 1pm and then yesterday(Tuesday)we had to have the water cut off from 8am till 7pm.I think it is totally outragous for the water board to expect people to go 11 hours without water.It meant we couldn't fulsh the toilet,do any washing or even cook anything that needed water,we couldn't even bath or wash the kids befor bed.
I belive that this will happen again as the street next to us had to have it switched off for 2 days.
I understand that having lead in your water is very dangerous and that my area this is a very big problem(we had ours checked 6mths ago)but come on NWW give us a break we need water!!!!!
Another thing they failed to mention when they posted flyers through our door telling us that the pipes are being changed was that doing it then disturbs your indoor pipes so you have to have them changed as with us the water turned brown and when the levels of lead were tested it was dangerously high.
