Disadvantages: dou u wanna read the truth
Well i am fed up about everyone going on how shite npower is and i dont think any of you bar the budget scheme review has any idea about the industry or how things work.
1) review about 4 years missing data- not npower0s fault it was siemens/brith gas who lost it due to there system migration.
2) No one here understands that energywtch are only a best pratice set up they have little bite over the industry and can get npower fined only ofgem can do that.All engerywatch are is a toothless goverment quango
3) npower has been fined for several things but so have all other energy retailer.Npower has the samllest fine customer ratio of them all- look at the ofgem web site for that info.
4) the rules on meter reading are thus 2 years for electric meters.12 months for gas.If you dont comply with this you property could be acessed by a duly authorised warrant of entry under the electricity and gas act 1954.The meter not your property it the suppliers/network owners.so obey the law please.
5) i dont think anyone here has an idea how bill are made up or how buget schemes work.Budget scemes work by amassing creit in the summer for the winter months so injune you will be massively in creidt.Bill are complex and i write a guide on them next week for you all.
6) all electric company can get make a forced entry to your propery for reason of debt or saftey so the onus is on the customer to prove his tennacy ownership start date or else the due course of law will prevail
All in all npower no worse or better than the other suppliers but god they working hard turning customers into fans.

- 27/01/07 Nilelung- The way npower estimate is down to AQ(automated quoatent) review that is provided by NGM(formally british Gas/transco).This is the basis for building all gas accounts. the foraula for estimatin gas bills is
AQ(average) + Seasonal AQ / actaul(last years consumption)/ 365 days*91.25 day = bill
remember estimated accounts are best guess

- 27/01/07 To be honest, I've nothing against nPower except perhaps that their estimates for my own personal usage are ALWAYS over-cautious, ending up with THEM always owing ME money at the annual day of reckoning - yes, I've heard all the arguments for 'building up a credit in summer' etc, but still they seem to over-estimate my bills. To a certain extent I don't care, at least this doesn't give me any nasty surprises. I use their 'Juice' electricity generated from 'green' sources' At the time I started this, they were the only company offering it. My gas bills never seem to be so contentious. |
