Npower prepayment rip off (NPower)

am i the only one who is being ripped off by Npower's prepayment system. They are holding on to mypayments and not allocating them to my account and so it looks as if I owe them money. I am not paying back any debt I am just paying for what I use. It has already been acknowledged by three different people at npower that my payments are not being allocated to my account but here I am close to one year later and still this has not been resolved. They are now trying to wiggle out of it by saying that they do not owe me anything but THIS IS NOT TRUE. I am not the only one this has happened to. Why are they allowed to hold on to our money like this.
