Advantages: None
Disadvantages: Incompetent and poor service
When our very cheap fixed rate came to an end with British Gas we decided to investigate switching our supplier as we had both with British Gas, we knew the cost would increase as for pretty much the whole of the two year fixed period the cost of both gas and electricity had risen.
We used a comparison site which was recommended by the Martin Lewis website as it paid £15 cashback and was meant to be very good at paying up and they recommended NPowr as being the cheapest option and so we switched.
What a mistake that has proven to be, the actual switching process went smoothly and everything took place when it said it would and the direct debits were set up however since switching our monthly payments have changed every couple of months, out of nowhere our electricity cost doubled based on a meter reading and then suddenly our gas was reduced to £3 a month which I knew was wrong. sure enough only yesterday a bill laded on the doorstep for £191 in total and now we owe £138.00 as they have not been collecting enough.
A phone call was greeted with a surly response that we must have provided a wrong meter reading, when I pointed out that it was one of their gents who read it the comment was that we would just have to pay up and live with it.
I can guarantee that after the one year tie in we will be switching as they have not got a clue what they are doing and the customer service is crap. My advice is to give them a wide bearth and go with another supplier.
Summary: Very poor power supplier

- 25/02/08 All these companies seem to offer good offers, to get you to join them, but they are all as bad as each other. They are all increasing their prices, then announcing major profits!!!! Nicola x |
