I have now been informed that thisisme (member) is absolutely correct and you have to be a new customer of NPower to change to Web 14, that is leave and the then rejoin. Apologies to thisisme. I was informed by the customer services that I was on Web 14 and a customer service representative rang me up and said I was on Web 14, which shows you they don't know? Oh! well, time for a change, another free dozen bottles of wine or maybe cash back this time? Confused, change with them again.

Whilst this is under the heading NPower, which for me is the cheapest power company to buy gas and electric from, I find them easy to contact, quick to answer and provide a reasonable service, this I think, will save you money as this involves any power company you are with.

I switched from British gas as their billing system needs a good shake up, to NPower just over 6 months ago and went onto the paperless 12 tariff which was cheaper than British Gas.

I checked a month later just as a matter of interest what would be the cheapest company now and found again it was NPower but they had brought in a new paperless 13 tariff which would save me more money so again I switched.

Tonight I checked again on one of the websites to see what would be the cheapest company and again it's NPower but again a new tariff WEB 14.

In total I will save around over £120 over the year, its worth checking.

In 6 months 2 new tariffs have been brought in that will save me money just by my changing to a different tariff but with the same company. I do not know for certain but are these new tariffs brought in just to bring in new customers when they go to the comparison web sites hoping the loyal existing customers do not check?

I know British Gas has a number of new tariffs coming on line, but if like me, you just accept that the power companies will give you the best deals. If you do not check on a regular basis you could lose out.
So no matter whom you are with, check that the tariff you are on is the latest/ cheapest, even if you want to stay with the power company you are with, it costs nothing online, but could save you money.
Please read comments - re changing tariffs as Web14 is an internet only account I put it down as Web4 Should read Web14 (key not working)
I decieded now to change to another power provider all is going well when I get a call from Npower aking why I was changing and I told them when the sales said this is a load of rubbish and he would gaurantee to put me on tariff 15 which I said OK. So hold on in there and you will win.

Summary: You may already do this but chances you don't, save money and check.

As you see from the main review the infomation is incorrect for Web 14 apologies to all but you may still change to a better tariff within the same company.

Further to my response to this is me-:

I rang NPower today and they have confirmed the I am now on Web 14 tariff and there is no restriction on existing customers changing to this trariff.

A reply to Thisisme _ re.changing Tariffs
Thanks for comment but you are totally wrong in you assumption that you have to do anything to change to any of NPower’s tariffs apart from telling them that this what you require. As I said I have changed twice and have letters from NPower confirming the change, my next change will be on the 2nd January 2009 to Web4. No one has at any stage challenged me and as you can only change to Web4 on line it does not even require you to put your bank details in as it does state they will use existing bank details as I am already a customer.
