My neighbours woke on Thursday morning to find that their storage heaters had not come on during the night. They phoned N. Power for help. The girl on the phone said no one could come out until 24th March. They are both in their seventies!! This was 5th March. They phoned their landlord. Derwentside homes who were excellent, they got a chap striaght out who rectified the problem-a loose cable at the meter, had he not interveved they could have been burnt in their sleep. Otherwise maybe frozen to death. The girl on the end of the phone said having no heating was not an emergency. It was frosty and snowy that morning and the poor souls have still not thawed out properly. Thanks n. Power and to the girl on the phone. YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE!! hAVE YOU NOT GOT GRANDPARENTS.
