Disadvantages: everything is a disadvantage
A nightmare to avoid, everything from A to Z is designed against transparency and good customer care. Tons of letters in contradiction one to another, unapproachable customer service, overcharging and misleading advertising.
I suffered from npower a long series of blunders, and lots of contradictory mails, and unjustified overcharging. Even their final Bill was surprisingly based on a very Inflated estimate, 42 units more than actual reading, corresponding to an extra 1080KWs, for an amount of 48 stolen GBP.
Despite I paid already those 42 units to the New Supplier, npower was still arguing for the units to be paid to them. They came with the unacceptable excuse that they could not produce a new bill based on actual readings, because the amount of disputed units was too small, and that I had to pay immediately the extra amount of 48GBP, otherwise they may pass my name to Credit Score Agencies.
Only after a long effort, a series of calls, lengthy complaining procedures, and a very stressful time, at end I succeeded in resolving the issue, paying the right amount of units.
Customer Care? Not from npower they make all possible steps to upset Customers
Even their promise of 120GBP annual discount for Dual Fuel customers, for 12 consecutive direct debit payments, has not been mantained , in fact after only 5 months they stopped unexpectedly to collect payments from my Direct Debit, breaking the 12 months consecutive payments, avoiding in this way to pay me their promised discount.
Such a shame
