NPower - stop doorstepping me! (NPower)

Disadvantages: pushy sales men who can't take no for an answer!

Npower first came to my attention when a very zealous sales man knocked on my door. Usually I tell such people politely but firmly to go away. However always on the look out to reduce domestic costs, I patiently listeined at first as this young man waffled on about how much I'd save if I changed over, how easy it was to change over and that I could only save. Not once was I given details of the basic costs etc..



Towards the end of our one way conversation the dreaded contract form came out, even this was not explained as a contract more of a sign this to say I've been round type form. After what seemed like an eternity I used the old give me some details and I'll discuss it with my husband routine.Only then was I given any kind of details regarding basic costs and this was done some what reluctantly!! This worked for all of 2 hours till he reappeared, wanting us to sign up after another conversation I declined stating that I wanted to check it out on the net first.



It was not until last week when another sales man collared my partner, giving the same old spile that I even gave Npower another thought I only ever thought about Npower when I saw the trailers prior to the Bill!!. Again we declined to sign up with them even after a further 3 visits in 2 days from them!



Having done some home work on the matter of utility prices, I've actually found that Npower will only save me 7% a year compared to other companies which could save me up to 10%. The salesman assured me that Npower would save me at least 10% and was the most competive in the area.



To be honest having suffered 5 visits from them even if it was the most competively priced gas and electric I still would not sign up with them. Heaven help a less assertive person at the hands of these people. It's a shame that Npower see's fit to employ what amounts to bully boy tactics on the doorstep




Should you encounter any Npower salesmen on your door step or any other power company I would recommend that you politely tell them to go forth!



To compare different utility price try the following sites: www.uswitch.com or www buy.co.uk This way you'll get an unbias opinion and not the views of someone trying to make a hard sale. I actually found that Npower did not even make the top ten of best buys for me!
