I am with Powegen at the moment, even though they aren't the best at least they aren't pushy.

My fiancée answered the door and spoke to a chap who said he was 'Just checking on peoples phones in the are.' Nothing was signed for or agreed upon and he said he was from BT. However a week later a package arrived from Npower thanking us for signing up with them for telephone services!!

I promptly phoned them up to tell them this and as they didn't seem to care I sent the pack back to them.

Fortunately we never received anything else from them. Beware.

I had exactly the same problem with British Gas - reported it to Energywatch and they had to investigate the pushy sales people and formally apologise. I wouldn't usually, but it really wound me up. ;)
