When I moved into my house the previous occupants had got their gas and electricity from npower and I just carried on without changing supplier. Apart from them getting my name wrong and thinking I was two different people, things weren't going too badly until a few weeks ago when a card came through my letterbox. The card said they wanted to do a compulsory visual safety inspection of my gas meter and I had to ring the phone number on the card to arrange one, but the number was crossed out with a thick black marker pen so it was unreadable. OK, I thought, if its that important they'll contact me again, hopefully without obscuring the phone number next time. Sure enough, 2 days later a letter arrived, saying they were going to get a warrant of entry from a magistrates court and that I would have to pay for it! The letter was signed by their billing manager but, in a break with tradition, he had neglected to include his address, phone number, or any other contact details. I sent a complaint to npower asking how I was supposed to phone a number that had been crossed out, and asking for their billing manager's contact details. To date, they have not replied.

UPDATE:
I managed to arrange a date for the gas meter inspection, waited in all day, but nobody turned up! Npower have still not responded to my complaint.
