had a boiler installed by npower and have spent more time on the phone to customer services who dont know what they are doing who promise to phone back and they dont we have spent 2 days at home waiting for engineer who doesnt turn up, we have explained that we have an 8 week old baby in the house and they just dont care but were quick to take our money for installation. When our guarantee runs out we will go with British Gas home team. Trading standards should look at this cowboy outfit. TAKE MY WORD SPEND A BIT EXTRA AND GO TO BRITISH GAS or try any of the other boiler installers or speak to friends or family to see how they have got on with theirs. Keith

OMG I wouldn't even give N Power one star if it was up to me! Swap to them and you will regret it! Customer service is absolutely atrocious and staff make empty promises. Am currently in a major dispute just to try and get £100 that was promised to me a year ago for coming back to them (against my better judgement)! What a mistake it was to re-join them. Anyway I have seen the light now and have just swapped to a much better company! Or so I hope!!

I have npower for my gas/electric so signed up for boiler cover as it is getting older. Had a repair via Worcester fixed fee repair and really recommend them but can't cover my boiler with them due to it's age. Have to say Npower are rubbish! 1st service wasted an afternoon no engineer by 5.30 so rang them. Oh! date wrong on system sorry...will try again next week. 2nd appt by 5.30 phone goes sorry need to reschedule. As I moaned said will come Sat AM which they did. Can't say they did much. Then had prob and rang them Wed eve appt given for Saturday. Fri eve tell call - message left- need to reschedule. No date/time given. Rang NPower Sat - assured will get engineer to call with time/date- had no call. Need to chase - again. Very poor service.............

Don't make the same mistake I did, I ignored the poor reviews of n power thinking they would just be the minority few problem incidents!!! Paid over £3,000 for a new Boiler from NPower. Rushed install in a day, 2 burst and leaking pipes after 2 days leaving a damaged kitchen ceiling and no water for a day. No one from NPower would help me despite 24hr Homecare cover. I had to get my Home Insurance policy to fix shoddy work. NPower finally agreed to get an engineer to attend 7 days after the first leak. Terrible.

I am a Landlord and I spend more time on the 'phone with Npower's customer service than with any other organisation. They are absolutely appalling. They make promises, give their names, reference numbers and then still fail to deliver. I could write a book but all I can say is avoid like the plague. It appears I have to give them one star as a rating, I'd prefer to give them none.

Just learnt that I have been paying far more for my electricity with NPower than I had to, and when I asked why I hadn't been informed that there were better rates, I was told because I hadn't asked and it is not their policy to help you. Great! So, don't make the same mistake as me and always ask if there are better tariffs available whichever company you are with and you could save a fortune.

worst supplier ever,I had been with npower for 8 years and boy was i mistaken,after deciding to leave they suddenly decided i had been incorectly billed for the last year and was hit with a £1600 bill,after paying it all off from a loan , i moved to scottish power , im saving loads and there website is excellent nothing like npower i have total control of my funds, when i enter my readings at any point it automaticaly comes off my account.having left npower and paying ther final bill six months ago i got a letter saying they have discovered a discrepancy 2 years back and want a further £160,i paid there direct debit every month aqnd never missed,they are cowboys and bullies with extortionate prices and terrible practices.Please please do your self a favour avoid them!!!

We moved in 2 years ago and stupidly changed to NPower, they charged £100 a month for gas and electricity which i thought was low, 12m later they tell me they've got it wrong & want £400 a month, I say no take £200, they agree, 12m later they've written demanding £500 a month based on an estimate which is DOUBLE my current usage, I feel sick with stress, now i have to wait till tomorrow to negotiate a £10 payment rise, it's all i can afford and should be more than adequate to show my willingness to pay. I cannot wait to pay off what I owe them and go to someone else. I feel they're behaving despicably and hiding the overestimate on the back of a 4 page letter in small text (not next to real usage costs) is dishonest. AVOID AVOID.

The service is appalling, phoning up once a week and finding out that last weeks person had got everything wrong.I signed up for direct debit meters and never received them (at 2 different addresses!!!), however at my second address they decided to charge me monthly as well as not replacing my PAYG meters!When chasing up they couldnt replace them as their system said they were pay monthly, it took 4 months to change this in their system! (FOUR MONTHS! to change a tick box!) and by that time i had changed supplier.Now I've been waiting for my rebates for 27days since they originally said it had been sent!Just so slow and poor service! How do they stand out to be so big and good in peoples heads (including mine previous to my experiences)RegardsLiam
