Here's a tale of warning to anyone thinking of changing gas & electricity suppliers...do you really want a month or more of grief? I moved into my flat with my parter at the end of May 2002, a property we rent from the council. After the usual shopping around we were taken by the literature that Powergen would work out cheaper than ... Read the complete review

Having read a few of the opinions on npower, there's very little extra I can add, except further endorsements of the highly critical comments. This is approximately 18 months on from one of the opinions I've read, and they don't seem to have done anything to improve their customer "service". I joined npower for ... Read the complete review

I am with Powegen at the moment, even though they aren't the best at least they aren't pushy. My fiancée answered the door and spoke to a chap who said he was 'Just checking on peoples phones in the are.' Nothing was signed for or agreed upon and he said he was from BT. However a week later a package arrived from Npower ... Read the complete review

The title I have awarded, for me, sums these people up in a nutshell. Myself and my wife were driven towards this "one household supplier" concept which seems de rigeur, back in September of last year. It all seemed simple enough. Ring them up, pass on the details of your address, whilst on the phone dig out the old bills for ... Read the complete review

I would advise you to keep walking if you ever see anyone from this lot trying to flog you gas or electricity they are just so much hassle for your couple of quid off. I moved just over a year ago and the house i moved into had n power supplying both gas and electricity .I contacted them soon after i moved in to tell them my details so ... Read the complete review

I am having distinctly "interesting times" with npower at present.... let me tell you a story. Once upon a time (ok, about 16 months ago) my bloke and I moved out of a flat and into the house we had bought. The house was then being supplied with gas and electricity by British Gas. (remember this, it is important.) We pottered ... Read the complete review

I have recently chaged over my electric suppliers from Eastern Energy to Npower. I am really glad that I've changed over, my bills are easily £10 a quarter cheaper than before. I pay a certain amount by card every month at the post office, but if I pay by direct debit I would save a further 3% off my bill. Whenever I phone up ... Read the complete review

I was at home way day having a nice relaxing time when somebody knocked on the door and said that I should fill out a form for cheaper bills and that it would make no difference to the service that I would recieve all I had to do was sign. I took this to be a general thing that was going on and that it was something to do with my gas and ... Read the complete review

I and my partner have recently decided to change our electricity supplier to from SWALEC to SWEB. Following a visit from a rep from SWEB we signed the relevant contracts and awaited the letters to confirm the change over had taken place, something that we thought would involve very little effort by us. Sadly .. we were wrong. Some weeks ... Read the complete review

Well, here is the latest update on my Npower escapade. The story so far: NPower came to my house offering me a trial for NPower with the promise of cheaper gas. These people were really insistant and invited themselves into my home. I didn't like that, but as what they seemed to be offering was a cheaper deal than British gas ... Read the complete review

If anyone from Npower knocks on your door, be careful...this is my recent experience A guy knocked on my door and told me that he was from Npower and asked to check my meters, as my current gas and electric companies were changing over, I wasn't sure what he was talking about. I thought that he was a sales rep and told him that I was ... Read the complete review

I have nothing to say about Npowers service per say. What I wish to write about is the disgusting way in which at least some of their sales personnel behave. I was visited this week by an Npower representative, who enquired as to who my current electricity supplier was. When I told him, I was told that Npower had bought this company ... I was moving house. I had been with Norweb Energy for 2 years and was very happy with the service that they had given me in that time. I phoned them to tell them that I was moving and they informed me that they were not the suppliers to the propery that I was moving to but would arrange for me to change over to them in 14 days. ... Around last August, there was a knock on my door. It was an NPower saleswoman. Having only recently returned to the UK after several years overseas, I didn't know anything about NPower, and actually believed all the wonderful things she told me about them. She told me how I could save money on my gas and electric bills by changing over to ... Read the complete review

My little saga started about 5 months ago. My hubby was at home all alone when a man from Npower called to say would you like to sign up for our gas supply. Our current supplier was good old British Gas. Hubby said yes. As the nice man said you could always change your mind and send the form back with in 14 days and it will be all ... NPower are a gas and electricity producer, they are in actual fact the 3rd largest in the world. They will save you 15% on gas and 10% on electricity. It is such a good deal, I would recommend NPower to everyone. It is free to swop over to NPower, free to swop back if you don't like it. There was no hassle at all, I just ... Now this is a review that is not going to be struck with objectivity. Ok so no whinging in the comments section about that, you are warned. This is a biased and annoyed opinion at this company’s selling tactics. In fact very annoyed. Npower are a service supply company, they offer Gas and Electricity and even if you do not take ... Npower first came to my attention when a very zealous sales man knocked on my door. Usually I tell such people politely but firmly to go away. However always on the look out to reduce domestic costs, I patiently listeined at first as this young man waffled on about how much I'd save if I changed over, how easy it was to change over and that I ... I've given npower one star on this opinion, but it's only because dooyoo makes you give some rating. If I could I would have given no star at all. At the end of August we moved. Npower had supplied our gas for a while, without any problems. We used their direct debit scheme, to pay our bill, and when we moved there was a credit ... Read the complete review

Having read the opinions on npower, british gas, northern electric and others it seems that they're all dreadful, cause huge amounts of hassle and rip you off. The reason why - if someone's satisfied with their service, they get low bills and no hassle, what are they going to write 75 words on? I'm going to write ... Read the complete review
