Having read all previous reviews of Npower, I now see what a fool I've been. Like many of us, we're keen to make savings where possible but I've done anything-but save... I'd been supplied for over 3 years by British Gas for both Gas and Electricity. I'd have regular payments of £25 for each every month and sometimes one would ...  Read the complete review

I am the 'unsolicited sales agent' in question. I feel that it is necessary to explain a few things as I am a bit miffed as to the nature of these words written about me.. Firstly,I would like to thank him/her for recognising that I explained the virtues of npower-that was my job. In terms of not backing anything up with ...  Read the complete review

NPower: incompetence to the power of N (380 words)

Over 3 years ago at a previous property we foolishly agreed to switch our electricity supplier to NPower. We were told that everything would be switched over and we would shortly receive confirmation in the post. No confirmation was ever received and we continued to receive bills from our existing supplier, which we paid. Eventually we ...  Read the complete review

We had two meters in our house. 1 ordinary and 1 white meter. The white meter was used by the previous occupants for storage heaters. We had the storage heaters removed but left the white meter because it had the immersion heater attached to it. After 18 years we decided that as we had never used the immersion heater it would be a good ...  Read the complete review

NPower Urself To CHange Supplier (1699 words)

We currently use Npower as our gas supplier because when my girlfriend moved into this place she stuck with them from her old place and they have always been pretty cheap. However although they charge quite reasonably for their prices they have no understanding of customer service. Over the past two years we have put up with ...  Read the complete review

I am getting rid of Snotty Shower for failing to manage my personal information properly and went to NPower on the (apparently personal but you never know) recommendation of someone in a retail shop. Well, NPower are at least as bad as Snotty Shower. When I asked them for a contract, they wrote to me asking for gas and ...  Read the complete review

Now here's a long story - it spans nearly a year and a half - but I'll be nice, and provide a simple summary : Do not sign up with NPower under any circumstances! If you ARE signed up with them, do everything in your power to LEAVE - immediately. Anyway, here's the detailed report: More than a year ago, I ...  Read the complete review

When I moved into my house the previous occupants had got their gas and electricity from npower and I just carried on without changing supplier. Apart from them getting my name wrong and thinking I was two different people, things weren't going too badly until a few weeks ago when a card came through my letterbox. The card said they ...  Read the complete review

THEFT from My Bank account - Advantages: NONE WHATSOEVER - Disadvantages: 328 pounds taken from my account by UNAUTHORISED direct DEBIT. 4 attemts to obtain 61pounds 50 pence per month when my actual quarterly bill was only 26pounds 40pence !, Lack of responce to letters and emails, left on hold on phone calls costing me FOUR POUNDs on one occasion before getting to speak to an advisor. there is not a rating low enough for this dreadfull company.

Since I moved into my flat, I've been with NPower, simply because that's who the previous resident used. I've only need to contact them a couple of times, and ended up holding on the phone or talking to a robot for quite some time before I got what I wanted. Still, the utility companies seem pretty much of a muchness on ...  Read the complete review

I moved into my new house in september 2000. The property had been empty for some time before moving in and the owner had allowed us access etc. so I was able to take meter readings and arrange for my electricity and gas to be supplied by TXU energi, (then eastern energy). The gas went through without a hitch, but because apparently the ...  Read the complete review

Here's a tale of warning to anyone thinking of changing gas & electricity suppliers...do you really want a month or more of grief? I moved into my flat with my parter at the end of May 2002, a property we rent from the council. Having read a few of the opinions on npower, there's very little extra I can add, except further endorsements of the highly critical comments. The title I have awarded, for me, sums these people up in a nutshell. I have recently chaged over my electric suppliers from Eastern Energy to Npower. I am really glad that I've changed over, my bills are easily £10 a quarter cheaper than before.
