Powergen - I don't think they care!

Disadvantages: Customer Service and Processes are Dreadful
I have just left Powergen as a customer because I found their customer service dreadful. I had been having problems with their on line service where I could only see my electric bill and not my gas. No one at there call centre was able or willing to help and consequently I didnít see a gas bill for about six months. They were getting there money through monthly Direct Debit. I also found they made it difficult to get the information on what tariff I was on. It was therefore hard to compare prices with other suppliers.
On leaving I had no correspondence from them on what would happen about final payments. Consequently it was messed up as they tried to charge me twice for the final electricity bill by direct debiting long after the bill had been paid by credit card and after our agreed DD date. They then tried to DD me for the final gas bill again some time after I had told their call centre people that all direct debits should be stopped and I would again pay this bill by card. Fortunatly this time the DD mandate had already been cancelled.
Summary: I don't think they could care less
