Advantages: cheaper than the rest, helpful customer services

Disadvantages: none that we've found

We switched to Scottish Power about 6 months ago after having huge problems with npower. Npower basically were trying to charge us for the previous occupants electricity when we moved house and after a year of ringing twice a week and getting nowhere they finally realised it wasn't our bill so after they sorted it out we wanted to switch immediately.

Scottish Power came up as the cheapest at the time on a comparison website so we arranged to have a monthly direct debit and use an online tariff with them.

I often check if they're still the cheapest and they are even now. We save at least a hundred pounds a year compared to what we paid with npower. And frankly no-one has customer services worse than npower!!

We've had no problems with Scottish Power. If we have paid more than the bill amount they credit us online and when we had a lengthy power cut and I called them they gave me a freephone number to ring to check on this. They were very polite and helpful.

Any queries with the bills have been answered swiftly with just one call and I've never had to hold for long to get to speak to someone. I've read some reviews from others on here and elsewhere who have had problems with the customer services at Scottish Power but I can honestly say we never have.

I recommend them.
