Bad thieves (Scottish Power)

Advantages: No advantages.

Disadvantages: Absolutely everything, specially them being thieves.

Scottish Power have been a nightmare since we moved in.

We gave accurate readings when we moved in, for gas and electric. We have been scrimping and saving since we moved here, and decided not to use heating at all. We later found out our radiators didn't work anyway, which suited us. So the only thing we use gas for is hot water.

They sent us our first bill after three months - estimated, even though a guy had been round to read it. The gas was estimated really high, so we phoned to give an accurate reading, and the man who had came round had read our meter wrong, a lot higher than it was. Because it's on their system they cant back track - so they said they would send someone round to investigate because it was unusually low (no wonder - we dont use gas). That person never came, and we got more bills demanding payment. So we just payed, we thought we might as well have it in credit and sort it out with the next bill.

The next bill arrived last week. £369 for gas - which we havnt even used, and an estimate again! We've sat freezing all winter for this! So we phoned up, and they said, again our reading is too low, they don't believe us because of the last gas man reading, and our meter must be broken. They said a manager would ring back. They didnt. So I rang the next day spending hours on the phone only to be cut off - and it is a rip off 0845 number.

We dont know what to do anymore - we cant afford this, and havnt used gas so shouldnt owe anything near this in the first place!

Summary: Dont use them, and make your life simple!
