Disadvantages: Dealing with strangers to the truth

I switched to a Scottish Power online tarriff 3 months ago after receiving a sales call from them. They asked what I paid for my current gas and electricity and when I told them the sales person told me they could supply for £30 a month less. As I thought it strange that they could work out so quickly how much electricity I used only by the monthly payments I was making, I asked what the catch was and was told that everything was above board and they were just cheaper.
Reality - After just two payments of my D/Debit I was asked to enter my latest meter readings into my account online.
Surprise surprise, I received an email stating my D/Debit payment would have to be increased to ensure I didn't fall behind. From £80 to £150 - yes you have read it correctly - an increase of 87.5% on my D/Debit.
Needless to say I am in dispute with them and reading previous reviews on this site Iit look like I will be waiting for some time for that return call.
Looks like - Goodbye Scottish Power and hello to my previous supplier.

Summary: Totally untrustworthy
