Advantages: Have had no problems
Disadvantages: None that I've found!
Severn Trent supply water to my home area. They are also responsible for sewage and rainwater collection. I am pleased to be able to say that I only ever hear from them at bill time. I pay the bill by direct debit and so can’t remember the last time I actually spoke to a Severn Trent employee. Clear water comes out of my taps when I turn them on and so frankly I don’t feel the need to chat. The only time I encounter any problems is when they dig up the road, and as they assure me that this is to install better piping to ensure cleaner water and less leakage and therefore a better environment I really have no complaints. This may change! As I am not at my house all the time and there is just lil’ ol’ me to use water I am thinking of installing a meter. I’m told that as a low user for my area I can save a substantial amount on my bill. I have been putting this off for ages, taking a ‘if it ain’t broke don’t fix it approach’, but the time has come to interact with Severn Trent on a human level. I am going to call them . . . soon (ish).

- 06/09/00 wow - I didn't realise water would get you all so excited. I'll hold off, I don't want to be part of an evil plot! (oh, and I'm too lazy to fill out forms) |

- 31/08/00 I agree with hillbilly1!! All the water companies are watering the same pot!! They play on our natural selfishness 'I live alone why should I pay as much as that family of 20 across the road?' mentality. When they have lots on meter's we will all have to pay more - much more. I believe it won't be long before that a house WITHOUT a water meter will be worth more than one with. I certainly wouldn't buy a house WITH a meter. |
