Oh great I thought when the Virgin salesman stopped me in the street, what?s mr Branson selling now.

"Would you blah blah" went the salesman. I listened to his garbage about how they were cheaper and all that crap, I asked if he prove his facts and he did in fact prove them by using an energy watch price comparison.

I got a freebie, a flimsy keying, and he promised I would get £30 worth of Virgin experience vouchers and be entered into their ambassador scheme.
- Virgin?s Ambassador scheme is a booklet, which they send you once every quarter with lots of so called ?offers?. The last one which I took advantage of was travel anywhere to anywhere on the Virgin trains network for a tenner. Mostly there?s offers for Virgin travel store, Virgin atlantic, Virgin express, Virgin cars, Virgin wines and so on.

I signed up there and then and went home and did a bit of researching myself. According to energywatch Virgin were the cheapest for dual fuel direct debit and still are.

A couple of weeks later I had someone from Virgin phone me up and ask if everything had been to my satisfaction and if the salesman wasn?t pressurising or anything. 3 days after that I got my free Virgin vouchers and I went and spent them in the local Virgin megastore.

So far the service is brilliant, the customer service is good once you get a direct freephone number to the correct department. You can even speak to a human at 3am in the morning, which is more then what can be said for some of the other electricity company?s.

Sometimes they phone me up and ask me to give a meter reading for my gas and electric, and other times I phone them so they don?t over estimate my bill.
