With any home we need to have cleaning items for virtually everything to make sure we are avoiding any bacteria to ourselves and our pets. In my home I have a few carpets and in the past had the whole home covered in them.
I had a Vax carpet cleaner in the past and this product the AAA spring cleaner was part of the item and it was basically given to me as a free item with the product.
Now the bottle comes in two different sizes but I have only ever got the 1.5 litre bottle which is around £10 in price. I would dislike paying so much but I would have to because it is perhaps the best carpet cleaner I have found.
The idea with this item is that you pour this into the carpet cleaner usually a Vax one and you spray it around the floor and use water to suck it back up. The cleaner is meant to be sprayed around the floor and scrubbed in with the carpet cleaner vacuum and then afterwards when it sucks the water and solution back up you should see results.
Well my experience has been a bit hit and miss regarding this item. You're not told how much to use which is already a problem so I find I use about 3 caps worth of this solution which is quite smelly and it does smell quite refreshing. The liquid is quite clear but I would keep it away from skin and eyes as it would seem it can causes irritations.
I then with the 3 caps worth add about a pint of water and it might be slightly too strong but you never know the full amount you need. In my home the first carpet I tried this on was a 100cm x 80cm rug which had a few paw prints from my dogs and also the odd silly mark of food which I have stepped in and passed onto the rug.
I began using this item on the rug and found it removed the paw prints and the marks of food instantly and left behind a rather nice smelling aroma which sort of helped me out because people who come into a home notice smells.
What I did find was that this item even though it is used with the carpet cleaner leaves your rug afterwards very damp and it means that you will end up having issues waiting for it to dry this is the one drawback.
The second is when the rug is dried you sometimes still see marks on the rug which I was angry with. The paw prints on first viewing seemed to have disappeared but when the next day approached the marks seemed to be there again which was shocking.
The carpet cleaner does well on rugs or carpets which have got mark on which have been there for ages. I find it does a decent job overall on those rugs because it gets out the smell out of the rug and manages to get a small amount of dirt up at a time and eventually produces clean rugs as a result.
I admit it does remove smells but as for cleaning carpets for small marks it tends to struggle. On an experiment I did recently I poured a small amount of red wine onto a small area of old carpet and some curry sauce. I used the same amount of this product as I had used before and it did remove the red wine. However, the curry it never seemed to touch as all if anything it smudged the mark and made it worse.
I think this product for the price should do more but for me it doesn't. It removes smell but it temperamental when it comes to what else it wishes to remove from rugs.
My Bottle I would like to state HAD no information on the black and was clear, I cannot help it when the bottle has no information there.
