... bought this vaccum five years ago because i d always heard how good dysons are and i was not disappointed. The dyson dc07 works brilliants on any type of carpet as well as floors. The suction is fantastic and the extra tools are really handy for getting into those hard to reach corners and underneath furniture. Electrolux Z580A ... is one of the most disappointing electrical products I have ever purchased and what made matters worse was the laissez faire, nonchalant, couldn t care less attitude of the Electrolux Customer Care department. I was attracted to purchasing this vacuum cleaner because it is cordless rechargeable, lightweight, bagless, has a washable filter, is easily manoevred around small spaces and awkward areas and has an integrated hand held vacuum cleaner which simply pops in and out of the main body of the vacuum cleaner. It cost me £65 which is not particularly cheap but because of the features above and the name Electrolux, which I had previously perceived to be a decent bra... Vax Mach 4 VZL-6014 ... bought this machine to use in the family home. I chose it because it was a good price (the price is even better now); and was designed for both hard and soft flooring. It took at little while to put the pieces together, the instructions could be clearer. There are lots of different attachments which all fit onto the cleaner - although I only use one of them - the extendable hose and nozzle for the stairs. It is a heavy machine, heavier than I expected - might be something to do with all the gadgets! To change from hard to soft flooring and vice versa you have to stop the machine, put the handle upright, change the dial at the front, and restart. The extendable ... Vax V-135 ... is in the bin after a year! Guess that says a lot. Guess that also says - you get what you pay for. I was impressed the 1st time we used it. Less and less impressed each time forward. Why didn t I throw it before a year? Good question - I was just lazy! It stopped sucking dirty water after just a few months. Even when it did suck in the dirt, it never was great. The problem was obviously compounded because we have cream coloured carpets. We just kept going back and forth with the washer, it made a great noise, but that was it. Ultimately, it stopped working altogether. I felt bad about being ecstatic, but I thought at least I can convince my husband to buy a better...
