Advantages: freshens carpets

Disadvantages: heavy & noisy & slow, uses a lot of cleaner, doesn't really remove stains

We bought a Bissell Proheat Protech deep clean due to having a very pale carpet in our new home - the intention was to keep our new carpet looking fresh, and free of marks !
Firstly the Bissell is very noisy, and extremely heavy/bulky. It also drinks carpet shampoo ( which I add is expensive! ) If your intention is just to freshen up your carpets, yes, it does it's job.. though it is also a long job as you have to keep going over and over the carpet at a very slow pace to get the best result - HOWEVER do not be misled or fooled into thinking these "cleaners" remove stains - in my experience they do not, even if treating a potential stain immediately. Perhaps we just had a misconception of a deep "cleaner" - which is not the same as a stain remover.
