I moved in to my first proper grown up flat. It has a coarse carpet on the stairs, laminate flooring through most of the house and tiles in the bathroow and kitchen. Not a big flat, but laminate flooring really shows dust. I am also a messy cook and so manage to make a mess of my tiny kitchen floor each time I cook.
So my lovely mum bought me this super power dustbuster. We looked at the cheaper models, but they had nowhere near enough suction. They would be suitable only for a wee bit of dust, definitely not enough to pick up dry rice or to pull dust out of carpet.
This dustbuster is incredibly powerful. I use it along skirting boards, and under my kitchen units to get the tough to reach dust. It is great on stairs. So useful in the kitchen to pick up little spills.
I am also horribly scared of spiders and can use this at arms length to clear cobwebs.
There is no bag and dust collects in a similar way to a dyson. Extremely easy to empty.
All in all, this is a fantastic bit of kit. You do need a proper hoover as well but this helps keep the house nice and clean.
We got this at the same time as a new 'normal' sized hoover. I wasn't expecting much because the only handheld hoover I've owned before broke the first time I used it. We decided to get this, instead of the much cheaper models, because with 8 cats in the house we need something with a bit of welly and thought this might be able to cope.
At first we used it to just tidy up a bit inbetween 'big cleans', but soon started using it to hoover the stairs and bedrooms instead of the big hoover. It's extremely quick to pick up and use, and the battery lasts longer than you would expect (it also charges quickly).
During some recent building work the hoover was accidently used to hoover up plaster dust, something which is apparently deadly to hoovers. We thought we had broke the hoover, but after giving the filters a quick wash it was as good as new again. It has never let us down.
With a house full of cats, this hoover really has made life so much easier.
I bought this for myself to do the little jobs around the house. I initially chose it because it was advertised as one of the most poweful with a pivot head. All in all I am very pleased with the PV1805. I used to have a hand held vacuum, but the nozzle was too thick and the suction was not strong, so I chose the PV1805 because it has a slim, pivoted nozzle and the power is very strong, and I must say that the appliance has not let me down. If is affective in picking up small amount of mess - left my my rabbit and budgie, which save me getting out the conventional vacuum. It is easy to empty, with just a twist of the side and the conents can be emptied easily into the bin. The only downsides are that the PV1805 is quite noisy and the battery life is not very long - but a quick re-charge, and you are up and running again. These are small downsides to me, and overall I am happy with the vacuum - especially as I did lots of research before I purchased it.
My husband bought me one of these for Xmas (!!??). It is a nice handy hoover to have around with a small child and definately saves me lugging the hoover up and down stairs frequently. However saying that it is quite bulky and not the lightest hand held hoover i have experienced. It is handy for the home and the car- my only critisisms being that the battery is a bit short of battery life and it does take an hour or two to fully charge. I have a small corsa and can only get 1/2 way round the car before the battery gives up! In addition ours seems to have lost suction and we are yet to find out why. The hoover is a bit trickly to empty and never seems to release as much rubbish as it sucks up!? It sucks things up but when you put the hoover back onto the stand it spits it all back out again! I think this maybe only a minor problem and seems to be caused by a blockage somewhere but nothing too obvious. Also one thing i would say is that the extendable nozzle is a bit feeble and does tend to clip itself back in wihtin minimal force put upon it! I also find that it is not quite small enough to fit in some nooks (such as next to seats in a car) so could maybe do with an additional attachment. However aside from the suction issues this is a handy little hoover- i would however recommend that for a mid-range appliance cheaper alternatives are available.
