Advantages: Small, powerful and good design

Disadvantages: Not bagless and needs a filter every year

When I purchase a anything I don't mind paying a premium price if I know I will get a good product in return, after all you get what you pay for.

I was deciding between either buying a Dyson or the Bosch, as you can imagine the Bosch was the cheaper of the two at around £130, wit the Dyson I was interested in hitting around £200. After some deep investigation I decided to choose the Bosch. At first I wasn't sure I had made the right decision but after using it I'm glad I did. The 2400W power is great at sucking up pretty anything, all it takes is a few passes and you're done. We have a new rug that malts everywhere, and leaves teal coloured fluff all over but a quick glide along and it's all gone. The sucking power can be easily altered by simply moving a little knob left or right, the power maximises at 2400 and minimises at around 800w, very quick and easy. It would have been easier to have it on the handle to save you reaching down but it isn't the end of the world.

The vacuum sports a retractable tube which is perfect to adjust for the individual's height, and also for when you want to vacuum areas of differing height (couch for example). It is also ideal for storage, especially if you are a new home buyer like me who has better more interesting things to use up my limited space. The Vacuum is also very small in itself considering it has a very large storage capacity of 4L.

It has some neat little tools in the main body which can be easily accessed (a brush, a comb and a much smaller carpet runner), although a few times the flap has come open and they have fallen out, this can be annoying.

I do however like the design of the Bosch, it looks neat and tidy with its black polished look and isn't at all 'In your face' like most Dyson's with their overly bright colours.

The bag is easy to replace, simply lift the lid, lift out the bag and replace, the bags are about £1 each, so it won't burst your bank. Although over the life of the vacuum it will probably cost the same as if you bought a new expensive Dyson which doesn't need bags and has a lifelong filter unlike the Bosch.

The Bosch has a retractable power cable that is stored inside the vacuum away from sight. Simply give the cord a little tug and it automatically winds itself up, the cord is also very long, around 8 meters, more than enough.

I like the Bosch very much and is ideal for carrying around because it is far lighter than the Dyson's and many other vacuums. I would advise this to anyone.
