This bagless mean machine leaves no stone unturned, its suction power makes sure of that, any dust and dirt on the carpet, curtains, sofa etc.. will be collected with force into the Dyson vacuum. If you think your carpet is clean then think again. I thought my carpet was spotless until I bought the bagless Dyson DC01. The truth is there is no comparison; it was time for my outdated vacuum cleaner to make room for my new Dyson model.

I bought my Dyson DC01 two years ago for around £240 – There are several Dyson models to choose from each having its unique features.

Hepa Filter

The hepa filter is the biggest filter of the Dyson DC01 and has to be changed every twelve months – It is specially designed to filter out dust particles and bacteria from the air. The filter kills all harmful bacteria by filtering and retaining it – ideal for all those asthma and allergy sufferers.

Motor Protection Filter

The smaller filter out of the two – This filter has to be changed every three months.


NOTE: - It is IMPERATIVE that you change filters when specified or your Dyson will not perform at its optimum or it may not even work. The suction will be reduced which will make your work around the house much harder.


Dual Cyclone System

This was the main selling point for me – the idea of never having to change a dusty bag again was too tempting to pass. The Dyson DC01 is a bagless vacuum; all dirt collected is deposited in a transparent container. When using the Dyson y
ou can see the dual cyclone mechanism in action – You will be surprised when you see how much dirt your Dyson transparent container reveals. Once the dirt container is full it is very easy to detach from the machine and empty. Bagless vacuums have become so popular that other manufacturers are following in Dyson shoes.

Dyson accessories

No vacuum is complete without your additionals – The Dyson also comes with a long tube which can easily be attached by clipping into position, allowing you to tackle those tricky places around the home – E.g.: the sides of your sofa, behind the wardrobe, awkward corners on the staircase, cat/dog hairs from upholstery etc – All these jobs are made easy with the Dyson DC01 as the suction is powerful and effective. Along with a small round brush that can also be used for curtains and upholstery these accessories are stored neatly on the side of the Dyson.


Upright Vacuum Cleaner

I do prefer upright vacuum cleaners than to the vacuum machines you have to drag around (another selling point for me). The Dyson DC01 looks good and feels good. The powerful suction on the Dyson picks up dirt quickly and efficiently, making vacuuming around the home easy.


Looking after your Dyson

Dysons are quite pricey so it is in your interest to take out insurance upon purchase – I’ve had my Dyson for two years now and have not encountered any problems but knowing I’m insured eases my worries if something did happen to go wrong. Insurance will cover you for pick up and delivery of the vacuum – an annual fee of £35 will cover you.

Day-to-Day maintenance – In order to keep your Dyson in good working order you should;

*Monitor your filters and change when need be (Very Important)

*Empty the container when full – This is a piece of cake whe
n compared to bags.

*Any blockages in the tube should be cleared up.

If your happy with your existing vacuum cleaner well that’s all good but if your not and your thinking of buying one then you should consider purchasing a Dyson DC01. This is a superb machine that does what its meant to do, and that’s to thoroughly clean your carpet. It performs far better than my last vacuum cleaner and I have to say this Dyson is well worth the money. The idea of not having a bag is brilliant, its also easier to maintain and best of all no need to keep spending money on hoover bags that in itself speaks volumes about Dyson vacuum cleaners. You will not be throwing money away if you decide to invest in one these…
