Advantages: PRICE, QUALITY & PERFORMANCE
Disadvantages: SEE THROUGH CANNISTER
With my husband suffering from hayfever and my son suffering with asthma as well, I thought about getting a dyson for quite a while after hearing good things about it. After buying one I was absolutely amazed after vacuming the whole house top to bottom and even the beds the dyson was full!! I usually vacuum between two and three times a week and was completely surprised at the amount of dirt and dust still left in the carpet. It is brilliant and I certainly wouldn't go back to using a vacuum with a bag. When we had our cat the cat hairs just vanished unlike when I use to use my old cleaner. The only off putting thing is the fact you can see all the dirt in the cannister which makes you hide your DYSON when you have friends around.

- 28/07/00 I always empty the dust directly into a plastic bags and hold the top tight around it. Also I never do this inside the house. I can then wash out the canister so it clean agai. It's a shame it's not approved by the BAF, but it gets my thumbs up every time! |

- 24/07/00 you comment about your husband and son having hayfever and asthma respectively...but there is one major flaw with the Dyson's and that is they fail to get the British Allergy Foundation seal of approval and that is because of the lack of a bag. When empyting the Dyson, the dust that is in the canister is open to the atmosphere therefore is replaced back in the air, whereas with bagged vacuum cleaners, the dust already picked up is left in the bag. |
