Advantages: bagless, suction

Disadvantages: cost

The first dyson bagless cylinder style vacuum cleaner to be released. The suction offered is amazing when compared to many bagged vacuums. The styling was inspired at the time with the clear bin to see how much dirt is captured.

The dc02 is fairly heavy and large when compared to the modern versions such as the dc08 but it does offer a larger capacity of dirt collection.

The range of attachments are good with crevice, stair and brush tools stored in the back under an easily accessible flap (although the flap can be a bit flimsy).

The collection bin is easy to empty with a press of a few buttons and you can buy washable filters which again are easy enough to change.

The dc02 has average noise for a cleaner and comes with a telescopic well built handle and retractable mains power cord.

This early dyson was better built in my opinion compared to the new ones which even though are offered with a 5 year guarantee seem a lot poorer quality.
