Advantages: Good suction

Disadvantages: Difficult to move and heavy

I bought the Dyson DC04 vacuum cleaner about four years ago, after hearing so many good reviews of their products. On the whole, it has been a really good hoover, and the suction is excellent, picking up all sorts of things from the floor. As I have a toddler, there is always something that needs hoovering up, so a good cleaner is vital.
One major drawback with this particular vacuum cleaner, is that it is quite heavy and bulky. Luckily, I live in a flat that is all on one level, and do not have to carry it up and down the stairs. If this were the case, I think that I would have two hoovers - one for upstairs and the other for downstairs. I have also found that the Dyson DC04 does not turn corners easily, and has to be lifted to change direction. This makes it feel quite clumsy to use.
There are also quite a lot of accessories attached to the hoover, and some of these are a little fiddly to manage. For example, the long suction tube pulls out of the back of the hoover, but has a rigid section in it. This makes it quite awkward to use, as it has to be pulled right out to it's full length, but it is still difficult to get to certain areas, eg, in the play pen or behind the settee, due to the rigid section stopping it.
Overall, the Dyson DC04 is a good vacuum cleaner for using backwards and forwards in a large, uncluttered area. In confined, small areas, it is quite difficult to manoeuvre, and has a lot of extra parts attached to it.

Summary: A good vacuum cleaner, but not suitable for small areas or carrying up and down stairs.

Great review here although you could mention the price, emptying it and filtration aspects.
