Advantages: Strong suction

We love our Dyson!
When we first got it we were amazed at the amount it managed to suck up. Rather disgusted actually! It kept a small child interested for ages!
The suction is definitely strong and really seems to keep it's strength, working as well as it did on the day it was purchased.

Only downfalls of ours is that sometimes the lean-back mechanism seems to get stuck and only a good kick will get it to lean back, rather than a gentle pressure with a foot. One of the brushes broke after only a couple of uses, which we found annoying. The others are always falling off their storage spot.
We do love the detactable hose part though. It's great for getting into all those little nooks and crannies!

For me personally, the major problem is that it weighs an absolute ton. I have to find someone else to carry it up the stairs for me!

Summary: costly, but a worthy investment.
