Advantages: High suction power, easy to maintain, looks good.
Disadvantages: None.
I bought this vacuum cleaner off ebay and I have to say, it is some of the best money I have ever spent. I have had other "branded" vacuum cleaners in the past and after a year or so they have all lost the majority of their suction.
Although I have not had this dyson for very long (about a year), it is second , and one of the earlier models and so far it hasn't lost any suction! It works amazingly well and copes no bother with my hair (which seems to shed at an alarming rate!), my cat's hair and my dog's hair. The suction is so powerful infact, that I can actually feel the carpet being lifted a little when it is on.
If there are any bad points about this hoover then they would be the size and weight of it. It is an older model and because of this, it is quite chunky and fairly heavy. It doesn't go under furniture very well and doesn't get right into the corners however it DOES come with lots of attachments which you can fix on to get those hard to reach places and they work extremely well. They attach to an extendable hose which is great and isn't too flimsy so you can get right to the back of the sofa.
The noise level isn't particularly high, I would say it is quite average and it certainly makes less noise than vacuum cleaners I have had previously (despite them being much smaller).
It used to take me around 20 minutes to properly vacuum my small, one bedroom flat but with the dyson it takes about 2 minutes. It is worth the money! It looks good, sucks good, is easy to empty and clean and lasts for years! What more could you want?
Summary: An excellent vacuum cleaner and worth the extra money.

- 06/01/09 Welcome to Dooyoo. For the benefit of future buyers it would be good here to add in a lot more detail such as:
Weight - is it heavy?
Does it go under low furniture?
Noise levels
How long you've owned it to judge that it "lasts for years." ?
Whats the hose like and use of smaller cleaning tools?
A bit more info will undoubtedly influence new buyers - even if the model is no longer produced, like you, they can get it off EBay or other outlets. If you update your review please message me.
