I'm not going to go into all the technical details about this vacuum, because it's all been said before. I just want to tell you about my experience of using the DC04, and what I really think about it.

Our house has to be the ultimate test for any vacuum cleaner. We've got three longhaired German Shepherds, who seem to leave clumps of hair anywhere and everywhere they go, plus two Greyhounds who are constantly burrowing in to the bed. The old taped together vacuum just couldn't cope, and when it finally packed in, we decided to splash out on a Dyson.

The first time I used the Dyson, I couldn't believe how heavy it seemed compared to my old vac. However, as soon as I switched it on and saw how much dirt and hair it was sucking up from the carpets, I couldn't care less about it being a bit heavy. It was absolutely amazing. The carpets were being brought up as good as new. In fact, I couldn't believe what filth we had been living in all this time, and I felt like a dirty whore.

When it came to vacuuming the stairs, this is where I had a few problems. The attachments kept falling off the hose, so I pushed them on harder, only to find I couldn't get the damned things off again! I have to admit I have broken a couple of the attachments doing this, but luckily we paid for the extended warranty, and they were replaced with no problems whatsoever.

If you've got any of those little throw down mats like me, you know the ones you scatter about the house, don't even attempt to vac them. They are too light, and they end up half sucked up the vacuum, and the noise is deafening if this happens, believe me.

I love the fact that this is a bagless vac, and that I can see all the dirt and grime in the clear cylinder. It gives me a sense of achievement when I can see how much dirt and hair I?ve picked up - sad but true.

I'm so glad I bought the Dyson DC04. It's absolut
ely fantastic at sucking up all trace of dirt and hair. The difference it has made to our carpets is incredible. Five dogs worth of hair is the ultimate test for any vacuum cleaner, but the Dyson DC04 has passed with flying colours.

I would love one of these! But at the moment my budget doesn't allow for one, so I will have to make do with my £30 hoover :-( Good op, I have heard so much about these hoovers (I would also kill for one of their washing machines too!!!)
