Advantages: Suction, Innovation
Disadvantages: Build quality, purchase cost
The cleaning power of this machine is awesome. I have been very please that everything that it claims to do, it delivers on. Suction is excellent, innovation is also very high - e.g. bagless, easy to access for blockages, tools all effective and are easily to hand, stair-cleaning is very easy, cable storage is superb BUT... there have been several problems with reliability when under the Dyson warranty this was OK as Dyson service were very efficient and sent pasts / engineer without a problem However the general build quality is poor Much of the construction is plastic and not up to the day to day usage necessary The hose has perished, several plastic clips have broken and the motor brushes have worn These are more than niggles and severely impact on an otherwise good product

- 08/08/02 Nice op. It sounds like a useful but fragile product. However, I doubt if many appliances sold for domestic use these days are going to last long. |

- 08/08/02 I agree with what you say about Dysons, especially the reliability part..:-)
My mate runs an independent audio/visual/appliances outlet and sells plenty of Dysons.
He loves 'em because the constant repairs and new parts they need on a regular basis provides his repair side's bread and butter work.
If you want an upright cleaner that's as efficient as a Dyson, has the same HEPA filtration and is built like a Mercedes, then have a look at the German manufactured Sebo models.
Recommen ded 100 per cent by my mate and he was absolutely correct.
Not only superior to a Dyson but cheaper too...:-) |

- 08/08/02 I agree - a bit more info, maybe what tools there are, how this model compares with others in the range, even what you thinkabout being able to see the 'dirt'! It all adds interest and a personal angle. |
