When our old faithful Vacuum cleaner packed up and after several attempts to mend it failed we decided to go and get a dyson as we had heard so much about this amazing machine that made the flattest of carpets look like new again. We looked at the various types of dysons and went for the cheapest upright that was just over £200. Wow I couldn?t wait to get home to start using my new carpet cleaner. Once home I hurriedly opened the box and started to read the instructions. When I opened the box there was the main body, lovely bright yellow and grey, there was a wand (to me and you the handle and flexi piping) there was three little tools, one long thin tool to get under low pieces of furniture, a little round brush handy for the three piece or the stairs, and the other which I use for the corners. ***** User Guide ***** On the first page there are pictures of all the different types of dysons available, there?s pink and purple ones green and purple and a grey and yellow one, anyway shouldn?t get carried away with telling you the array of colours now, so on to the assembling of my dyson. The assembling of the dyson is easy as its in detailed diagrams no long words for something so easy to put together. Basically all we did was put the tools onto the main body of the cleaner, and attach the ?wand? (the handle) and it was ready for use. ***** Operating The Dyson ***** On the head of the dyson there is an adjuster that heightens the brushes depending on which carpets you are cleaning. It can be adjusted for hard floorings and delicate rugs and all thickness of carpets. If like me you vacuum things that shouldn?t really be hovered up the dysons lets you know about it by making more noise than my hubbys backside. It scared the living daylights out of me at first, but now whenever it makes its racket there?s a loud cheer from somewhere in the house!! Its got an on/off switch, a small butto
n on the handle that unclips the hose from the main body, then you attach any of the tools for example hoovering the stairs or in the little nooks and crannies we all have. While on the subject of the stairs there is a warning that when cleaning the stairs always work above the cleaner so as not to cause unnecessary injury e.g., the hoover falling on your head. ***** Taking care of your dyson ***** As with most things if you take care of them they will last longer, with the Dyson basically all you need to do is wash the filter which is in the main body of the hoover in the top of the clear cylinder. Only wash the filter in cool water until water runs clear (cleaning of the filter is recommended every six months. Never put the filter in the washing machine or tumble dryer just allow to dry naturally, once dry replace back into the Dyson and its again ready to use. ***** Emptying ***** To empty your Dyson all you need to do is unclip the clear bin (the clip being just below the handle). Recommendations before you empty your Dyson especially for asthma/allergy sufferers instead of emptying you Dyson straight into the bin, empty it into a bag and allow the dust to settle that way no dust escapes to cause the sufferer unnecessary suffering. It is optional but you can wash your clear bin part of the Dyson with water ??but no detergents, ensure completely dry before replacing it to main body. ***** If things go wrong ***** The Dyson is covered with a two year guarantee, but just in case that has ran out There is an accessory form that comes with your Dyson pack and you can order all parts of it you simply fill in the order form and send it with payment to Dyson accessories Tetbury hill Malmesbury Wiltshire Sn16 orp You can telephone your order through on 0870 527 5105 and use your credit card. It is my opinion that Dyson is a remarkable vacuum cleaner; I ce
rtainly would be lost without mine now.

- 17/08/02 Maybe I'm missing something here, but you don't seem to tell us if it actually works! When you run it over a dirty carpet, is the carpet clean afterwards? |
