Advantages: brilliant suction

Disadvantages: costly

As my hoover spluttered its last breath, I despaired. But dada-da-daaa Dyson to the rescue.
(How DID a man come up with this idea? Answers on a postcard please.)

Having seen a advert for a sale on dyson, my mind was made up.

Preparation
Having got home, The next task was putting it together. This was very simple as the instructions were very clear and detailed. Cleverly all the parts that come apart are a different colour. The fact the dyson comes apart so easily makes it a lot easier to clear blockages.

Performance.
I set about hoovering, hoping and praying that this would be one machine that could cope with with the copious amounts of dog hair produced by my large german shepherd.
I took one look at the carpet and knew I could never go back to conventional bag hoovers. The carpet looked new! The power of the suction was unbelieveable, not even one hair was left on the carpet. The way it deals with dog hair without clogging the system is worth every penny.
The machine itself is a bit bulky and is slightly heavy but because of cleverly positioned handles, you can easily carry it one handed upstairs.
The retractable hose is brilliant, It reaches all the way to the top of my stairs (13 steps) which with previous makes was a huge effect involving lots of carrying of large heavy bits up and down stairs. Even my step daughter found this easy to use and as the main culprit for breaking hoovers that was a relief.
You also get extra heads for the hose which are ideal for getting in every nook and cranny, helping you to clean furniture.

Emptying
When it came to clearing out the clear bin,I was shocked at how little mess was made. The dyson has lifetime filters that you have to take out and clean every 6 months ( I actually didn't do this for the first year and it made a hell of a difference to the suction on the hoover so you should definitely do this.)

Parts and breakdown
My hoove
r stopped working for a while and when I rang the dyson helpline they were extremely helpful and told me what was wrong over the phone. (It turned out the belt, on the brush, had snapped ). Although some parts can be quite expensive, they last a long time.

Colours
The dyson comes in a good range of colours, lime and silver, purple and of course yellow and grey just to name a few. You could even get a dyson to suit you decor if you wish.

Cost
I paid £170 for mine in a sale. The price ranges from £150 - over £200 depending on the colour scheme you choose. The high price tag may put you off but it really is worth every penny as the amount of money you save from not having to buy bags anymore evens it up very fast.

Where
I bought mine from currys but you can buy a dyson in any good electrical store i.e. comet or online stores i.e. www.electricalshop.com

This for me has to be the best invention so far and the fact a man came up with the concept of making hoovering easier and faster is amazing.

I would recommend everyone to buy one.

I have a Dyson that is about 4 years old. The hose has broken twice. Each time I rang them up and made out I had had it for less than a year and each time they have send me a new hose free of charge!
