I purchased my Dyson 4 years ago. I when I filled out my guarantee and it asked how long did I expect my Dyson to last, I ticked the 10 years plus box! I have not had much luck with my Dyson, although it vacuums well the parts keep breaking. I have replaced the stair tool three times, the extension tube twice as the small clips that attach the other tools snap after a while. The handle that I pick it up with snapped off as I picked it up and a spring that lives under the on off switch has flown out twice (I can’t find it this time)! As you can imagine my Dyson is rendered useless. The only way I can have all this fixed is if I insure it with Dyson but this is additional cost on top of the cost that I purchased it, I thought it was going to pay for itself. If I add up the cost of insurance over the last 4 years I could have bought myself another Dyson! I would not recommend a Dyson, maybe the uprights are better, maybe the parts don’t break as much. My Dyson is now stuck together with duck tape as I refuse to pay out any more money.

Summary: I would go for another bagless make
