Excellent apart from one thing (Dyson DC05 Turbo Brush)

Generally this is an excellent vacuum cleaner, particularly on carpet when used with the turbo-brush attachment. In fact, its suction is so good that when using it on a friend's new carpet we noticed that it was actually sucking up bits of the underlay through the carpet!

It has a good amount of attachments which clip handily to the hose, though they can knock against furniture, and fall off when you are hoovering. Unlike some Dysons this one doesn't need expensive new filters every six months. You just take out the round fowm filter twice a year and wash it, putting it back in when you are sure it is dry.

The standard floor attachment (ie. not the turbo-brush) is fine for hard floors.

The only problem is the little clip that attaches the end of the metal extension tube to either the floor attachment or the turbo-brush is rather flimsily made. You have to be very careful when taking off the attachments not to pull them of as this weakens the clip which will eventually break. After a could of years use mine broke and that means that your attachments fall off all the time, making it impossible to use the whole contraption.

If you go to Dyson's website it is possible to fix the problem by getting a replacement extension hose, but seeing as it costs 29.50 (about 15% of the orginal cost of the whole machine) it makes no sense whatsoever.

I am going to call Dyson's customer service line and see if they can help me out. Watch this space.
