Right, there are good and bad points about the Dyson DC07. I personally was unimpressed. When comparing it to cheaper cleaners, it just doesn't seem to be any better. Yes, you don't need bags which is good, and it's got a very advanced filter system. The filtering is a bit pointless though, as you have to open the unit to empty it, so you have to do that outside and well away from any allergy sufferers for there to be any point. I find it far too heavy, bulky, and difficult to maneuvre, and it sounds like an aircraft taking off! The hose which you put attachments on is far too short - you can't reach to hoover cobwebs from the ceiling, and stairs is a real struggle because of the size and weight of the thing. We had a continuing problem with the drive belts stretching and slipping off - and it was really quite a complicated process to get to them to pop them back on. I wouldn't have wanted to call out an engineer every time that happened, it was just too frequent.
In my opinion, this is an effective vacuum cleaner, but there are equivalents (and some better ones) available for half the price.

Summary: It's a fine vacuum cleaner ut not worth the money.
