Advantages: Excellent suction and easy to empty
Disadvantages: Extension hose can split
We have owned our Dyson DC07 for about 4 years now and bought it after, usually, going for cylinder vacuum cleaners and have always been impressed with the suction both on hard and carpeted floors.
We (my wife included) have never found it to be too heavy (a complaint my mother in law has with hers) and it is easy to manouver.
The collection container is easy to empty (you just press a lever to remove and then press another to empty once at the bin).
The one thing we have had a problem with is the extendable hose that is used for the crevice tool etc. Ours has split near the plastic connector at the end. The vacuum cleaner is still usable when the hose is not extended but can be awkward when it is.
We only really used the extension for the stairs so we have got an extra hand held (corded) cleaner for this, which suits us better.
So, we have no intention of replacing the Dyson as it is a very good vacuum cleaner but would have hoped the extension hose could have lasted longer.

- 10/02/09 Welcome to Dooyoo. A good start here but for the benefit of future buyers could do with a bit more info such as:
How much did it cost you when bought?
What is the actual weight? Does it fall over easily when the hose is pulled out of it?
Is it noisy in use?
Does it clean all kinds of floors despite its namesake?
Given that new Dysons come with a 5 year guarantee, the justification for buying one if you're a fan is hard to ignore. If you update your review please message me.
