2 Dysons, 2 faulty in 2 weeks (Dyson DC07 Allergy)

Advantages: Powerful, Looks good??

Disadvantages: 1st broke in 10 minutes, 2nd broke in 1 week!!

We purchased a Dyson DC07 Animal in mid September, and within 10 minutes of using it, the motor had burnt out. I was not using it harshly, I vacuumed the dining room carpet, which I had vacuumed with our previous vacuum, just to prove how much muck the Dyson gets up. I then did the stairs (standard short pile carpet), and after 5 minutes, it gave up the ghost, and the house smelt of burning. It was not the thermal cutout, as it did not start again after that.

So a replacement was ordered. This one worked fine, but when the motor was slowing down, there was a catching noise, like the fan was not connected properly. Then, after 1 week of use the on/off switch is broken. You need to hold it in to get it to work.

So, I am very very very disappointed with Dyson, and tomorrow I will be getting a refund from the retailer. I have written to James to tell him about his problems with Quality Control (or lack of), so I will await a reply.

Yes, I did mean to give this a 1 star rating, I would have given it zero stars if there was a box for that!
