Advantages: More tools make light work

This Dyson is around 3 years old now and has been around the block many times. I feel I am extremely well positioned to give a review, as I have spent more hours with this than I care to remember.

So let me go back to the very beginning. The old 'Hoover' (and I say Hoover rather than Vacum Cleaner)was broken and my wife wanted one that 'we' could empty rather than have bags to empty. We popped along to Curry's and bought this Dyson. The first time we had ever had this make before. We had heard good things and as we had a cat and 3 young children, we wanted something we could rely on.

At the time our house was mainly carpet however since then we have followed the times and replaced many carpets with laminate. Our first experience can only be described as pure bliss. The amazement watching us vacum the carpet, and see all the junk on a carpet that had already been cleaned, made us look at eachother in amazement. Had we really been leaving the house so dirty? We vacumed regularly and had the carpet professionally clean once or twice a year. Anyway this had us literally vacuming all over our house. Moving beds etc and the muck this device picked up was teriffic. For those places we had a job reaching Dyson had even given us other tools, such as

Hard Floor Tool:This had long bristles to prevent scratching.
Animal Turbo Tool
Dyson Engineered Floor Tool:To reach under low furniture.
Stair Tool
Brush Tool
Crevice Tool

They really had left nothing to chance. We were extremely impressed. One item that really impressed us was the hose. We could actually leave the vacum downstairs and hoover right to the very top. This saved us having to balance the vacum half way up the stairs like we had to previously. A great idea from Mr Dyson. We were also very impressed with the bagless cylinder and how we could empty it out just by unclipping it.

If you want to clean the filters, which you need to do from time to time, you just give them a rinse and allow them to dry out. We still have the same filters from day one. On a negative side we have had a number of blockages on the dyson and trying to get a 2p out of a long hose is really difficult. Other blockages underneath have also been very difficult to move.

In all I would however recommend this cleaner to all. We have used this vacum for at least 700 hours in all and it still works fine, so it has stood the test of time. Our next vacum cleaner will be due soon and that to will be a dyson!!
