Advantages: Very Powerful, Lots of tools, Worth the money

Disadvantages: Heavy, Quite Noisy, Hose is difficult to use

I assume that by reading my review, you are considering buying the DC07 Animal. So, I?ll tell you all about the Animal, and boy is it a beast!

I must admit I won it in a competition, however in the shops it costs about £230 - £280. Check in Currys, Comet, Powerhouse etc. for the best prices and of course, check out other websites. There?s nowt like shopping around!

So now about the vac. There are about 6 models in the range, 7 if you include the special edition one from Currys. The basic one is silver and yellow, you get the great Root Cyclone system and a host of other features. I recommend the Dyson Website, as it gives all the features, and even better, it explains what the features do, so you can judge for yourself how useful they are. The next in the range is the silver/blue one, ?All Floors?. It has a brushbar switch which stops it rotating, useful on hard floors, or when cleaning the car or stairs. The blue/turquoise and purple/green ?Allergy+? vac is the same, but has a special HEPA filter. Good if the slightest thing makes you sneeze! Next is the purple/red, with a floor tool for cleaning under low furniture, and then the ANIMAL! This has a small ?turbo tool?. It has an air-powered brush, to clean stairs, furniture etc. It is silver and purple.

The first thing you notice is the colour. If purple isn?t your thing, then perhaps get another model and buy the extra tools, but if features are better than colours for you, why not? Next, you notice the amount of stuff you get. It takes a bit of building, connecting the hose and the cord. Simple, especially as the instruction manual has both pictures and text. So once you?ve set it up, switch it on and get going. First, you?d better do the Dyson Test. Vacuum the lounge, bedrooms, whole house, with your old vacuum (if it still works), then vacuum with the ANIMAL! The suction is phenomenal. My advice is to attach loose objects to something heavy, and keep small children and pets away.

You can see the carpet?s clean as you push it along, the carpet pile is raised, and the bits of rubbish fly around in the bin. It is actually quite amusing at first.

The next best thing is the hose. Press the catch in the front, and away you go, all the way to the top of the stairs if you so desire. Beware though, the suction is extremely powerful, and the hose can be quite difficult to manoeuvre There's loads more things to do. Remember to visit the Dyson website and you can see for yourself the wonders. Some people really don?t like Dysons, some do. I do, previously we had the Dyson DC02, their first cylinder. It still works, and was a brilliant vac, however it is somewhat eclipsed by the newer technology.
