Advantages: Easy to move around, accessories at hand.
Disadvantages: Heavy to carry.
I have had this model of Dyson for 5 years. It is a brilliant machine and no way would I swap it........
I bought it as a retirement present to myself and have never regretted it. It is heavy to carry, but does a fantastic job, the handle reverses so you can clean under things, the dust brush is handy for cleaning curtains and soft furnishing as well as getting rid of the cobwebs you cannot reach any other way.
I recently had the Dyson serviced by Dyson in my home £65 for a complete service and included the parts. A new brush bar and filters and it works as well as ever, the suction is so powerful you have to watch you do not pick up things by mistake. Its so easy to empty too, mind you it can be scary the first time you use it to clean a carpet with the amount of muck you can see in the cylinder is truely amazing, I was horror struck the first time I used it.
Summary: Very good cleaner, does what it says on the box.

- 05/02/09 Fair opinion here but needs a lot more user experience. You dont say how long you've had this model so its impossible to wholly trust whether this vacuum is as reliable as you say. A bit more user experience would be good here such as:
Price of the model at the time of purchase.
Actual weight
Is it very noisy?
Can it go under low furniture or suffers the same design weakness of most Dyson where the floor head appears to be too big?
Easy to glide across all floor surfaces?
Filtration aspects
What does the "Full Gear" title mean? What accessories do you get with it?
Adding this info will give future buyers a clearer view of what this vacuum offers.
