Advantages: powerful, gets all types of flooring dust free
Disadvantages: none
I got my second Dyson about 8 months ago, and I am so glad! After putting up with (what I considered)a second rate, albeit new cleaner, for almost two years it was wonderful to have what I feel to be cleaner floors at last. I got my 'other' cleaner as a wedding gift after my old trusty Dyson DC01 was damaged behond repair after 5 years faithful service. I really wanted another Dyson, but as they say, beggars can't be choosers! When I saw the DC07 on special offer in my local Tesco (where my mother in law also works so I got an extra 10% off :-) )I just had to spurge. The first time I 'Dysonned' my living room carpet, (which is only 12 months old and had been vacuumed the day before)I was shocked by the amount of dust and fluff it got out. My husband and young daughter both suffer from asthma and if you know anything at all about dust mites, which aggravate both of them, you will know that they are dirty little things! They reproduce and poo at a very alarming rate (there are something like a couple of hundred dust mites in a very small pile of dust!!) but this fantastic machine seems to get rid of them very effectively. Neither my husband or daughter have been has bad with their asthma since I go my dyson. The DC07 has a bucket load of features, * Dyson Root8Cyclone technology - which has 45% more suction - it actually lifts the carpet! * Auto-adjusting cleaner head - adjusts automatically to the right height setting for all floors. * Lifetime highest grade filters without losing suction, no need to keep buying filters * Anti-jam brushbar - Brush control system protects rug tassels and belt. Can be switched off for delicate floors. * Ready-to-go hose - Goes straight to the top of the stairs. Doesn't fall over. * Remote trigger bin emptying - Quick and hygienic bin emptying, very good for allergy sufferers. * Reversible wand - Reaches awkward areas more easily. The adjustin
g head part means that I can go straight from my tiled kitchen to my carpeted living room and onto my laminated dining room & hallway without messing about with height adjustments. There are tiny little brushes on the outside of the bar which means that all the dust that seems to gather in the edges of the room is gathered up also. The filters, although ?lifetime? have to be remove and rinsed in warm water every 3-6 months then dried over a radiator for 12 hours. The hose for the stairs is long, but when I get near the top of the stairs (average number of 13) I find it hard and usually end up bringing the dyson onto the landing and doing the top 2-3 stairs from there. The actually body of the dyson is quite nicely styled in a bluey turquoise colour with a silvery grey. All over it are little self coloured pictures (don?t know how else to describe it) showing how to do additional ?actions?, i.e. there is one showing how to remove the handle part from the hose and another showing how to remove the filter. There is also a little sticker the dyson customer care number on it. The people at the call centre are very friendly and helpful, (I had to call because I had forgotten to clean my filter and it was stuck!) The only thing that I can think that may bother some people is the fact that the bin is clear so you can see all the dust and dirt. Doesn't bother me though. I am very happy to have a Dyson again and my mother in law has just bought one for herself on my recommendation. Like I said in my title, I used to 'Hoover up', now I Dyson!!
