Advantages: Excellent value, great suction, reliable, easy to empty
Disadvantages: Slightly noisy
We purchased this Dyson for moving into our first house. My mum and dad had a Dyson which I was impressed by and it really seemed the only choice!
My parents had an older model with the single cyclone, this having the Root 8 Cyclone blew us away with its power. If not a little nosier, its suction power by far outweighs the noise generated.
It came in the classic yellow and silver colours synonomous with Dyson, it was easier to unpack and assemble. It was plugged in within minutes and I was hoping my wife would fall in love with it! (she did and now I can just enjoy watching this lovely machine glide around the floors haha).
It comes with all the usual tools which can easily and safely be stored in their respective slots on the dyson itself. Unlike with my parents dyson, the tools don't fall off when generally vacuuming the floor.
The pipe is extra long for reaching into those tight crevices where your dyson won't fit.
The dyson is easy to empty, as the bottom of the plastic dirt container opens to allow the dust to full into a bag. On older dysons you had to tip the container up to empty it and risk some dust falling back to the floor or choking you, with the bottom coming undone, the dust falls straight into the bin with minimum fuss.
Overall I would recommend this dyson, it represents great value for money, is reliable (touch wood) and has incredible suction power, my only critisism it that it is a touch noisy.
Summary: A great vacuum built to last with excellent suction
